Heidi Klum’s banned in Las Vegas

Heidi Klum’s Sharper Image ads banned in … Las Vegas?

Heidi Klum is too racy for Sin City!Yes, you read that correctly. Las Vegas, a city known for its loose slot machines and sometimes looser morals, thinks a series of advertisements featuring the supermodel are simply “too sexy” for public display. To be fair, the whole city doesn’t feel this way, but at least one city official felt Heidi’s suggestive holiday ad campaign for Sharper Image was too risqué, thereby forcing the Las Vegas airport’s Sharper Image store to take down the advertisements.

The ads, which showcase some of the brand’s most popular items, each feature a scantily-clad or nude image of the “Project Runway” star alongside suggestive phrases such as “What keeps Heidi Klum busy in the shower?” and “What turns Heidi Klum on?”

But while the campaign has proved a hit across major cities, a spokesperson for the McCarran International Airport, where the ads have been banned, insisted that the provocative imagery violates local regulations about imagery which features women’s breasts.

Despite taking the ads down, the company is standing by the campaign, calling it “tasteful.””We are shocked that the Sharper Image ads featuring Heidi Klum have been banned in Las Vegas, of all places,” said Chief Marketing Officer Dari Marder, according to the Daily Mail. “We believe the campaign is tasteful, beautiful and — while sexy — not inappropriate in any way. The reaction to it has been fabulous to date and it is running in all forms of media without any issue.”
See, what happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas … it can actually get banned.
