‘The Shield’ Actor Michael Jace Detained in Connection to Wife’s Shooting Death


The actor, who also appeared in “Southland,” was held by police on suspicion of shooting and killing his wife, April Jace, on Monday night, according to reports.

The actor, who has appeared in FX’s The Shield and TNT’s Southland, was detained when police were called out to a home in the Hyde Park area of Los Angeles after gunshots were heard, reported KCAL 9 and KCBS in Los Angeles.
Responding officers found April Jace dead with gunshot wounds to her body at around 8.30 p.m. on the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue.

KCAL9 reported that the victim’s 48-year-old husband has not been arrested, but is being questioned.

When hollywoodinsight.com  reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for comment, a spokesperson for the criminal gang homicide division confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation but could not give any more details at this time.

Jace also appeared alongside Russell Crowe in the 2009 political thriller State of Play.
