From Fox 21, Sirens was produced by Denis Leary and Bob Fisher and centered on a close group of EMTs in Chicago. The series starred Michael Mosley, Kevin Daniels, Kevin Bigley andJessica McNamee.
The decision to cancel Sirens should come as little surprise given USA’s renewed focus on drama. The NBC Universal-owned cable network experimented in the comedy arena with both Sirens and ABC Signature’s Benched, the latter of which was axed after one season.
Meanwhile, USA still has six episodes of a “soft-scripted” comedic series with Donny Deutsch in the works, likely to pair with half-hour reality juggernaut Chrisley Knows Best. Scripted comedy Playing House returns for season two in August, with USA planning to use that low-cost series as an experiment with its digital platform.
