WGA Awards: The Winners List

The Imitation Game and The Grand Budapest Hotel were winners on Saturday night at the Writers Guild of America Awards, claiming honors for adapted screenplay and original screenplay respectively.

The Writers Guild of America, West and The Writers Guild of America, East held simultaneous awards ceremonies Saturday at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles and the Edison Ballroom in New York.

Lisa Kudrow hosted the Los Angeles ceremony, while Larry Wilmore emceed the New York event.

In Los Angeles, Laurel Awards for Screen and for Television were presented to Harold Ramis and Shonda Rhimes respectively. Special achievement awards were presented to Len Uhley (Animation Writing Award), Margaret Nagle (Paul Selvin Award) and Pedro Almodovar (Jean Renoir Award). The guild’s Morgan Cox Award was given to Jeff Melvoin and its Valentine Davies Award to Ben Affleck.

In New York, honorary awards were presented to Norman Lear, Paul Haggis and Jeremy Pikser.
